Solving Big Problems

How do we make a bigger difference?

When someone in your community needs help, what do you do? Sometimes the problem can be alleviated with one-on-one help, and sometimes the challenge is just too large for any one person to resolve. By coming together as a community, we can support those in need in so many different ways, from advocating for systemic changes to providing funding for organizations making change.

At Plymouth Housing, one of the ways that we’re making a bigger impact is by growing as swiftly as we can. There are thousands of people experiencing chronic homelessness in King County, so we’ve accelerated our growth. By 2023, we’ll have opened five more buildings, bringing 500 more people into housing.

Meet Brian

Amazon

“‘Community’ is the shared life experiences and responsibility that we all bear to each other in order to have a fair, equitable and efficient world based on caring for one another.”

As the CFO of Amazon, Brian Olsavsky got to know Plymouth Housing in 2019 when Amazon made a major donation to the PROOF Capital Campaign. He has been involved ever since as a member of our Advisory Council. Brian is inspired by the way Plymouth Housing provides a home and the support people need to change the trajectory of their lives in a positive way, and he continues to cheer on Plymouth Housing’s growth to meet the needs of the thousands of people experiencing chronic homelessness in King County.

Plymouth Housing's PROOF Capital Campaign raised a record-breaking $59.1 million to build 6 new apartment buildings housing 600 residents, establish an endowment, and support the restoration and maintenance of 6 historic buildings.
